Why Buy Caustic Soda Online from UK Chemical Suppliers, ReAgent Chemicals?
ReAgent is pleased to offer Caustic Soda Pearls and Caustic Soda Pellets. Pearls are slightly larger than Pellets and the domestic market tends to favour Pearls whilst commercial customers tend to use Pellets.
Caustic Soda is widely used within the chemical and other industries, particularly in the production of soap. Caustic Soda is capable of decomposing fat and oils, liberating glycerol and combining with fatty acids which makes it a perfect choice soap manufacturing.
Caustic Soda is most often manufactured in a process involving a strong solution of brine, which produces chlorine and caustic. It is also possible to manufacture caustic soda from common salt through a number of different processes. Caustic is also a bi-product of chlorine manufacture.
Here at ReAgent we have been manufacturing and supplying a wide range of chemicals and chemical products for over 30 years and have built up a reputation for quality of product, excellent customer service and value for money. We are also a leading UK supplier of general chemical reagents, bespoke chemicals, specialised buffers and many other chemical products, in additiona to Caustic Soda. White and highly deliquescent, Caustic Soda is commonly marketed as 70 twaddle liquor, which is a 32% w/w solution. This is because the solution has a lower freezing point than the 100 twaddle liquor. 100 twaddle liquor equates to a 47% w/w solution. ReAgent supplies Caustic Soda in both of these strengths, plus many other strengths and grades.
If the end user is purchasing higher strength Caustic Soda, it is important to have the facility to store the product safely, ideally indoors and/or in a heated area. If the product is allowed to freeze, it expands, which can in extreme situations burst containers. Due to the hazardous nature of this product, this is potentially quite dangerous.
On a more practical level, allowing Caustic Soda to freeze is most inconvenient – effort is then required to thaw the product, for example, by wrapping the container in a heating jacket. It can also cause delays to the application of the product, which would be of particular inconvenience for a manufacturing company with delivery deadlines to meet.
