Potassium Permanganate is also known as Potassium Permangenate and KMnO4. In a solid state Potassium Permanganate is close to purple in colour, whilst solutions are different shades of pink, depending on the strength. It is strongly oxidising and may cause stains; therefore it should only be handled by suitably qualified persons, having carefully consulted the Material Safety Data Sheet beforehand.

Potassium Permanganate has a variety of uses. Amongst others, it may be used as a disinfectant, a fungicide, in the production of pharmaceuticals and to treat fish disease. We recommend that only expert fish keepers attempt to treat fish with Potassium Permanganate. Unless clearly stated otherwise, none of our products are suitable for human consumption.

Please note that Potassium Permanganate is a drug precursor. Companies who deal in precursor chemicals need to register their interests with the Home Office. In keeping with our quality accreditation, we can only supply this product to companies who have registered. Registration is a simple process.
