The 135,000 horsepower vehicle represents a mix of automotive and aviation technologies coming together to create something truly extraordinary – 7.5 tonne a super-sonic car that can travel faster than a speeding bullet (literally!). It is hoped that this exciting, globe-spanning project will inspire the next generation of scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians.
ReAgent has supplied the project with chemicals for passivation testing – a vital part of preparing the BLOODHOUND SSC parts for it’s record-breaking run – as well as quantities of our high purity deionised water.
ReAgent is proud to be sponsoring the Bloodhound Project and we’re excited about joining the team on their record breaking adventure! We hope that our involvement with Bloodhound will help raise awareness of the great work they are doing to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.
The record attempt will take place in at the Hakskeen Pan in South Africa – a vast, flat, hard desert offering the perfect conditions for this ambitious record attempt. Before that, a slow run will take place in 2015 which aims to hit a mere 800mph (a record breaking speed in itself!) with the full speed run happening a year later.
