From Concept to Industrial Scale
Turning an idea into a finished chemical product takes more than just technical know-how. At ReAgent, we guide you through every stage of development, from early discussions right through to full-scale manufacture, with all the technical support you need.
No matter the size of your company, from well-established to start-up and all in between, our technical experts are ready to help, sharing their knowledge and insight to help you develop a high-quality product that’s right for your business.
Here’s how we take your concept and turn it into a product that’s ready for market.
Understanding Your Requirements
Our team begins by working closely with you and our sales department to define exactly what the product needs to do. We’ll explore everything from intended performance through to details like colour, fragrance, texture, or foaming properties.
A joint meeting between you, our technical specialists and the sales team helps us get clarity on the outcome you’re looking for.
Research and Planning
Once we understand your goals, we combine our in-house expertise with external literature and supplier information to begin planning.
If you have an existing product you’re looking to recreate or replace, sending us the safety data sheet or a sample can speed this process up. Our modern laboratory has all the equipment needed to de-formulate a product and find out what chemicals they’re made of. This can involve techniques such as FTIR spectroscopy, XRF analysis, and UV-visible spectroscopy, to name a few.
Either way, we review available raw materials and order anything new that may be needed for testing, making sure every option aligns with the technical requirements. You’ll receive regular updates through the sales team, so you’re
Laboratory Sample Creation
A small selection of lab samples are then produced that match your criteria, and are put through in-house testing.
From there, we shortlist the best-performing versions and send them over to you for feedback. This step helps refine the final formulation before moving forward.
Scale-Up and Documentation
When you’ve approved the sample, we move the formulation into small or full-scale production depending on its complexity. This includes writing up work instructions, safety data sheets and product labels.
If needed, we also build bespoke testing methods with input from our Quality Control team, ensuring the product can be reproduced consistently.
Compliance and Manufacturing
Before production begins, our Compliance and Regulatory Manager reviews all labels and documentation to make sure everything meets legal and safety standards.
If a product requires special handling or production methods, we work with the manufacturing team to identify the most efficient and safe route to scale-up, including use of IBCs or dedicated mixing tanks.
Final Production
With everything in place, your product moves into full manufacturing. Our goal is to deliver a reliable, high-quality solution that performs exactly as expected, every time.
If you’re happy for us to retain the IP for your formulation, we can provide in-house product development support at no extra charge. Alternatively, if you’d rather own the IP, this can be arranged but please note that this is considered paid work.
Either way, we can discuss this on a case-by-case basis and come to a commercial arrangement that works for you.

- In-cabin surface cleaners suitable for aircraft interiors and touchpoints
Optimising Existing Chemical Formulas
Improving an existing formulation can be just as valuable as developing a new one. If you’re trying to reduce costs, meet new regulations or boost product performance, our technical team can help refine what you already have. We’ll start by discussing your goals in detail so we can understand what’s working and what needs to change.
You might want to make a product more environmentally-friendly by replacing ingredients with green alternatives like plant based surfactants or modern biodegradable solvents. Other times, it’s about updating the look and feel, such as adjusting the colour or adding a specific fragrance.
When all sides have agreed on the end goals, we’ll identify the key deliverables and get to work on reformulating your product. Everything is tested in-house before being sent to you for review, and when you’ve had a chance to evaluate the updated sample, we’ll collaborate to make any final tweaks and ensure it’s ready for production.

Packaging and Labelling
On top of developing and producing your product, we handle everything else needed to get it to market. That includes sourcing the most suitable packaging, preparing fully compliant labels, and coordinating every detail to align with your brand and the product’s intended use.
Before anything goes into production, you’ll receive packaging samples for review and approval. We also supply a full Safety Data Sheet with the correct hazard symbols and transport classifications to meet both UK and international requirements.
Whether you’ve got labels designed and ready, or need a hand from our in-house design team, everything is checked to make sure it is clear, accurate and legally compliant. Finished goods can then be shipped across the UK, into Europe or further afield.
