Speedcrete Professional Construction Equipment started 50 years ago, and supplies the concrete industry with finishing tools and other products for laying concrete.
They have four strategically-placed depots across the UK in order to cover the whole country.
We spoke to Ian Holland, Speedcrete’s Marketing Manager, who explains how ReAgent helped Speedcrete transform their operations post-Brexit and become the go-to supplier of concrete chemicals in the UK.
Speedcrete’s needs and challenges
When Speedcrete first approached ReAgent, their challenge was due to the fact that legislation had changed following the UK’s departure from the EU.
It was becoming very expensive for them to source products from Europe as they had previously done, and they needed to find a solution within the UK.
Speedcrete had been looking for a solution to this challenge for around 18 months before connecting with ReAgent.
It had become critical to solve their issue because of increasing competition within the UK and the fact that many of their competitors were larger than them.
As Ian says, “To find the solution in the way that we did within the UK allowed us to compete.”
Finding a solution in ReAgent
Speedcrete were looking at a number of alternative chemical suppliers, but the differentiating factor when they talked to ReAgent was our customer service.
Ian says, “The big factor was the rep, John Rankin, he’s been excellent helping us.
“We like the personal relationship that we built with John Rankin right from the start. To have that kind of personal relationship with somebody is fantastic for us because he just gives us complete confidence in what you guys can do. And that’s all we needed really; good product and good communication.”
The results
As Speedcrete’s UK-based chemical manufacturer and supplier, ReAgent ensures that Speedcrete has the high-quality products they need when they need them, and that their customers are happy.
As Ian says, “We’ve been able to keep our foot in that door with all the people using these products for the concrete industry.
“Using ReAgent to make our products we have seen stability in our company and we’ve now become a go-to for these products.”
A resounding recommendation
Would Speedcrete recommend ReAgent?
Ian continues, “I’d definitely recommend ReAgent. My advice to other companies that have got similar challenges to ourselves would be to get in contact with ReAgent basically, because you guys have been fantastic.”
