ReAgent is proud to be both a Living Wage and Living Hours certified employer.

But what does this mean? You can watch our video right here to find out, and continue reading to understand more about what it means to be a Living Wage and Living Hours employer:

What is the Living Wage?

Living Wage EmployerThe real Living Wage is the only wage rate that is proven to cover everyday needs, from grocery shopping to an emergency dentist appointment.

It’s higher than the minimum wage and the national living wage that are set by the government.

The rate is independently calculated based on what people need to live on and a new rate is released every year. Accredited companies must implement the new rate within six months.

Living Hours Employer

What does it mean to be a Living Hours employer?

Living Hours companies must guarantee:

  • A minimum of 16 hours’ work a week (unless an employee requests otherwise)
  • A contract that accurately reflects hours worked
  • At least four weeks’ notice of shift changes

Why is ReAgent a Living Wage & Living Hours employer?

Paying employees a fair salary is something we are very proud of, and ensuring that each member of our staff has guaranteed contractual paid hours is just as important. As our Managing Director, Simon Tasker, says in the video: “We want our employees to feel safe and secure in work, in a stable working environment where there are good contracts and a good earning level. And that’s why we feel it’s important to keep these accreditations on a year by year basis.

We are dedicated to providing our employees with a stable and rewarding environment to work in, and joining the Living Wage and Living Hours movement shows just that.
